Procedure for Entry

Entry at 11+

Prospective pupils will be required to take computer based tests in English, Mathematics and Reasoning Skills. An interview will be held with a senior member of staff and candidates are required to provide copies of recent school reports.

We will ask for a reference from the candidate’s current school and once the assessment process is complete, we will notify parents and guardians with offers of places which will need to be formally accepted.

Entry at 13+

Entrance follows the same format as at 11+ although candidates are invited for assessment and interview when they are 11 – specifically in November of their Form 1 (Year 7) academic year. Late applications can be made if places are still available.

Entry at 16+

It is expected that students entering the Sixth Form have at least three B grades and two C grades at GCSE level, including passes in English and Mathematics.

Students must meet the individual subject entry criteria for their chosen programme of A Level study as outlined on the Sixth Form Admissions page.

An A grade at GCSE is a prerequisite for studying Mathematics or a Modern Foreign Language at A Level.

Students with English as an Additional Language will be assessed according to their national qualifications and language skills.

All overseas students must take English and Mathematics tests before a place can be offered by the College.
