Volunteers are an essential part of the Pangbourne Community. Below are some of the ways in which you can volunteer. If you are interested in any of the opportunities below, please get in touch with Mrs Anne Huddart, Development Officer.
COMMITTEE VOLUNTEER. Three alumni and community groups currently exist, and each is run by a volunteer committee. Honorary OPs and OPs can get involved with the OP Society Committee, current parents and staff can be on the PPA Committee, and former parents can get involved through POPs. The workload normally involves termly meetings and occasional events, and is a great way to meet fellow Pangbournians.
ALUMNI REPRESENTATIVES. Would you be interested in connecting fellow OPs in your geographic area? From your decade or Division? Or are you currently at University and looking for or do you have a sport or other interest which others might share?
CAREERS DAY SPEAKER. In 2018, nearly 40 OPs and parents across a wide range of career sectors came to Pangbourne to speak to current Sixth Formers. Volunteers sat on Q&A panels and met Sixth Formers in an informal networking session to give advice and guidance. If you would like to donate a few hours of your time and expertise to help our current pupils, please get in touch.
VOLUNTEER INTERVIEWER. Continuing the theme of careers help, each year the College runs a 'Mock Interview' Day for Lower Sixth, normally in June. We require OPs and parents with experience in interviewing to help put our Sixth Formers (gently) through their paces. Please do get in touch if you can help.
GENERAL STUDIES SPEAKER. If you are an OP or parent doing interesting things, and you would like to share your story with current pupils, please do get in touch. There are opportunities throughout the academic year to speak to pupils in their 'General Studies' lecture series, which introduces thought-provoking topics, interesting speakers and topical discussions.
