Life at Pangbourne combines modern and vibrant teaching, myriad opportunities outside the classroom and traditional quirks that nod to the school’s previous incarnation as a nautical college. This is also evident within our pupil houses, known as Divisions.
Our pupils are a mixture of day pupils, part-boarders, weekly boarders and full boarders, and are spread among the Junior House (Dunbar) and six Senior Divisions – Harbinger, Hesperus, Illawarra, Macquarie, Port Jackson and St George.
Key to the strength of the Pangbourne community is the pastoral care, rated ‘Excellent’ in the 2014 ISI Inspection Report.
Within each Division, there is a team of staff to ensure all pupils are progressing academically, being supported and developing their emotional well-being.
No stone is left unturned in creating a happy environment within the Divisions and, under the enthusiastic leadership of the Housemasters and Housemistresses, pupils feel a sense of pride and loyalty to their respective Divisions.
The commitment displayed by the Divisional staff means boarders and part-boarders have an array of trips and activities to take part in on a weekly basis, and can take advantage of the many study facilities to progress with their academic work.
