There are numerous opportunities for musicians of all abilities to pursue their interests outside of the classroom.
As well as regular trips organised by the Music Department to see professional musicians perform, students are able to participate in the College Choir, Chamber Choir, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Drum Corps, Percussion Ensemble and chamber ensembles.
The various musical groups are given the opportunity to perform at regular informal recitals in the Nancye Harding Recital Hall as well as more formal events and services in Drake Hall and the College's impressive Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel.
The College is an all-Steinway School and has three Steinway concert grand pianos, as well as a host of high-quality, smaller instruments.
Aural and theory classes are held outside of the curriculum and students can benefit from regular accompaniment sessions with Music department staff.
The hotly-contested, student-led Inter-Divisional Music Competition and the candle-lit Service of Nine Lessons and Carols are highlights of the Pangbourne calendar, while the College Choir is privileged to be invited and perform at the Annual National Service for Seafarers at St Paul's Cathedral each year.
Pangbourne also plays host to an annual Piano Festival where scores of pianists from the south of England visit and make full use of the College's excellent facilities under the supportive guidance of experienced adjudicators who offer instant and encouraging feedback.
