Economics and Business
As economies and businesses around the world battle with falling commodity prices, Brexit and the disruptive effects of technology, there has never been a more interesting time to study Economics or Business.
The Economics and Business Department at Pangbourne aims to deliver these subjects in a modern and topical way. We draw on current affairs and use the latest technology to enable students to discuss the issues and viewpoints with authority and confidence.
The Department is based in specialist classrooms which offer interactive whiteboards and access to a substantial library of resources to support and stretch pupils, whatever their ability.
The department offers Business at GCSE (AQA specification) and at A Level (AQA specification). We also offer Economics as a sixth form subject at A Level (Edexcel specification 'A').
We use a detailed pupil tracking system so that students and staff are constantly aware of areas of strength and aspects which need further development.
The Department arranges regular trips to destinations such as the Mini factory at Cowley, the Amazon fulfillment centre in Hemel Hempstead, the Coca-Cola factory in Milton Keynes and financial institutions in the City of London.
