Pangbourne College is proud to announce a new partnership with Reading Hockey Club, reinforcing a long-standing relationship and opening exciting new opportunities for both our female hockey players and the wider community.

This collaboration will see the two institutions working closely to enhance hockey provision for Pangbourne pupils while also delivering Community Coaching sessions aimed at introducing hockey to under-14s who may not otherwise have the opportunity to play. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to inclusion, talent development, and promoting healthy, active lifestyles.

Tim Hunt, Chair of Reading Hockey Club, expressed his enthusiasm for the new agreement, stating: “I am delighted to be extending our relationship with Pangbourne College through this new partnership agreement. There is a long history of association between the College and Reading Hockey Club with many past and present pupils playing at the Club and alongside this, a number of Reading Hockey 1st team players support our coaching at Pangbourne . To be able to work with the College to provide Community Coaching to Under 14s who wouldn’t otherwise get the chance to play hockey is testament to our shared values and I look forward to seeing the partnership go from strength to strength.”

The partnership will also create opportunities for joint events, coaching development, and use of top-class facilities, enriching the experience for all involved.

Director of Sport at Pangbourne College, Sam Hewick, added: “We are thrilled to formalise our collaboration with Reading Hockey Club. This partnership not only enhances the sporting pathway for our pupils but also supports our ‘Five Year Sport Vision and Strategy’ which centres on great coaching and providing unrivalled access to every pupil, from those aspiring to professional sport to those participating to improve their health and well-being.”

Together, Pangbourne College and Reading Hockey Club aim to inspire the next generation of hockey players and broaden access to the sport across Berkshire.
