Board of Governors

The Board of Governors govern the running of Pangbourne College and support the Head and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).


The Board is made up of the following individuals. Click the drop-down boxes for further information:

Patrick was appointed to the Board in 2017 and became Chair in December 2020. A former pupil at the College, he retired from the Army in 2003 after a varied career and became Bursar at Cranleigh School until 2020. He is also Treasurer of a heritage charity. 

Elected in November 2004, Andrew is Vice Chair of the Board and Head of the Property and Sustainability Committee. An ordained priest, he is a solicitor in the City of London and specialises in commercial property and property finance. His son is an Old Pangbournian (OP).

Sally is a retired paediatric physiotherapist, currently teaching at another school and also a National Trainer and Assessor for the Royal Life Saving Society. All four of her sons attended the College. A member of the Education and Welfare Committee, she is the College’s Safeguarding Governor and was elected in 2015.

Tracy was appointed in 2021. After a career in the army, she and her husband were boarding house parents at a prep school and are now running Cranleigh Prep School. She sits on the Education and Welfare Committee with responsibility for Boarding.

Charlotte was one of the first girls to attend the College. She was a Logistics Officer in the Royal Navy and then an in-house barrister. She is now general counsel for defence firm Norman Brittan. Elected in 2006 she sits on the Finance and General Purposes Committee.

Desmond was appointed in 2019 and is a former Head of History, Housemaster and Registrar at Dragon School, Oxford. He is also a Tonbridge School Governor and author of several books and publications. He is a member of the Education and Welfare Committee.

An Old Pangbournian (OP), Rhidian was Head of Papplewick School from 1991-2003, before establishing a consultancy to help families find schools for their children and advising governing bodies on senior staff selection. Elected in 2004, he is on the Education and Welfare Committee.

Raised in Australia, David worked in finance in South Africa, the UK and USA. In the UK he started a digital transformation consultancy. He has three children, two Old Pangbournians (OPs) and the other at the College. He was appointed in 2019 to the Finance and General Purposes Committee.

Perena was elected in 2021 to the Finance and General Purpose Committee. She worked for the Admissions department at Harrow School before joining the Harrow Association and becoming Director in 2018. She has an interest in Fundraising and Development.

Mark was appointed to the Board in 2021. He served as foundation governor and chair at the University Technical College, Oxfordshire for six years. An ordained priest, he is a chartered accountant with experience in the Biotechnology, Healthcare and Aerospace sectors. Mark is Head of the Finance and General Purposes Committee.

Rohan was educated at the College and appointed to the Board in 2021. A member of the Finance and General Purposes Committee, he has a career in the finance industry and works for Hargreaves Lansdown. He has also volunteered for a number of charities.

Tarka is a chartered accountant and Group Financial Controller at IRIS Software Group. She was elected in 2022 and is a member of the Finance and GP Committee. An Old Pangbournian (OP), she has one daughter at the school, with another joining shortly.

Elected in July 2022, Emma is currently a Partner and Department Head of Education and Charities at Knight Frank LLP, acting principally in an advisory, agency and valuation capacity. She sits on the Property amd Sustainability Committee.
