Following the stellar A Level results this year, Pangbourne College is delighted to announce some of its best-ever GCSE results, with pupils achieving outstanding levels of success in this year's examinations. This remarkable achievement marks the culmination of pupils’ hard work and dedication and the unwavering support of the staff.

This year's results show continued strong performance across the board and some of the highlights of the outstanding results include 38% 9-7 grades (best in last 8 years and 3rd best results ever) and 84% 9-5 grades (best ever) as well as 96% 9-4 grades (best ever). Biology, French and Physics achieved more than 60% 9-7 grades and Biology, Chemistry, German and Physics all achieved 100% 9-5 grades.

"We are immensely proud of the achievements of all our Year 11 pupils and the successes they have demonstrated in their examinations this summer," says Mr Oliver Knight, Head at Pangbourne College. “They have demonstrated great resilience and determination over the course of their studies and these results set them up well to live a life of choice and opportunity.

We are immensely proud of them and grateful to the staff and parents for their hard work and commitment. I am delighted to welcome them back to our brand new Sixth Form Centre in September to continue their journey.”

Deputy Head Academic, Mark Seccombe, added: “This is an outstanding set of results. We are extremely proud – both of our pupils who have clearly worked very hard to achieve them; and of our staff who have helped steer and support them over the course of the GCSE curriculum. The changes we made to the academic processes this year have paid dividends and we hope to see further improvements in forthcoming years. These exceptional results will equip this cohort of students at Pangbourne with a strong foundation for their transition into Sixth Form. We can’t wait to see what results they achieve in two years.”

Pangbourne is opening its new Sixth Form Centre at the start of September. This will provide a dedicated space for students to prepare for life beyond the College. It will include areas for independent study, collaborative work and social spaces, fostering a balance of academic focus and growing independence. Life in Sixth Form at Pangbourne College is all about pupils taking control of their own learning and developing the mindset to forge their own path through adult life. At Pangbourne, each individual is empowered to fulfil their potential and develop the confidence, values and skills to make a positive difference to the world. Pupils leave Pangbourne as rounded and interesting individuals able to work in a multitude of teams and with the confidence to live an authentic life.
